This photo was taken this past summer in Chicago at the Chicago Cultural Center. It is an old, green-tinted, stained glass dome with a beautiful capacity for light transference. I have always been infatuated by stained glass windows and the way the tinted light shines into the building. This photo feels almost heavenly to me; perhaps partially due to the association of stained glass with churches, but also because of the way the afternoon light interacts with the colored glass. The dark contrast of the latticework creates a beautiful juxtaposition of opacity and transparency, which creates a sense of depth in this photograph.
