I love the lighting in this picture done by John Orphan in Los Angeles, CA. I love the way he uses contrasting cool, blue and white and warm, orange and red lights to create a feeling of a city space. Using fluorescent coloring he creates a modern day feel. Using water and back lighting accentuates the idea of rain. Using the white light just near the head brings focus to the subject. I love the way the back lighting creates a silhouette of a person making it feel a bit mysterious. At the same time the blue light on the shirt is contrasting with the black on the body exposing a bit more of the body frame creating a more intimate and sexy feeling. The lighting lends itself to a feeling of secretly watching someone by combing artificial colors to natural elements while keeping the subject unexposed by using silhouette.
