Blog #4

Hi everyone!
For my second to last blog post, I wanted to switch things up by using one of my own pictures rather than something from my lighting design Pinterest board. I took this photo on day two of the Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival, 2019. The music festival is held every year at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles; there are a total of four stages all with state of the art lighting instruments with a lot of their inventory consisted of mostly LED movers. It looks incredibly expensive up close as well as very high up. This set I took a photo of used a lot of haze, steamed fog, projections and included pyrotechnics and powerful steam cannons, it was bananas! I was mesmerized by the color palettes the designer used since there were a lot of blues, reds, pinks to magentas which is very aesthetically pleasing in my opinion.  There was a modern romantic feel to the designer's color palette and heightened the hopeless romantic, with a touch of emo, music that the DJ was playing. The projection that was being displayed is a pair of orange-tinted anime-style teary eyes which goes nicely with the magenta side lighting. A lot of the blue color is flooding onto the audience which added to the "in the feels" ambiance of the music; it is nice that the color and music worked together to create a fantastic set.
