I chose this photo because I was automatically drawn to the contrast of color within. The purple/pink/white colors in the sky seem to reflect a sense of calmness and tranquility. The city itself is shadowed, which makes it seem like the city is asleep. I think this photo is a great example of how the color of light can create a specific atmosphere. The lack of light and low intensity around the buildings reflects stillness. It does not necessarily signify a lack of life, but more like a lack of liveliness. As I previously mentioned, the colors in the sky support a gentle atmosphere which overall makes this photo relaxing to look at.
