Blog #5 - My One Allotted Nature Picture
Unfortunately, my saga of blogging about bars and clubs has come to a close ;_; Nonetheless, since I am allowed one nature picture, I decided to blog about a quite compelling image I have of Aldrich Park when I was studying in the first floor of Langson Library. A lot of what we have been learning in class is the importance of finding dynamism in addition to simplicity through light. This was taken on the day of Spring Forward, so the day contained a lot more sunlight and thus provided the spectrum of cool and warm natural sunlight. Nature is so complex in various ways, but light can really help give it that simpler wash that ties everything together. The stark elements of shadow and light really made this particular image sublime (shoutout to Edmund Burke's theories of aestheticism way back in 1757), and it painted a snapshot of the world that was, frankly, a sight to behold.
Taking the time to look outside the window at the time I was studying provided me a quaint moment of reflection for both the progress of the quarter and the growth that I've had delving into the world of lighting design. To sum up my experiences, I have been so excited by the work and curriculum that we have encountered throughout this quarter. If I had more time, I'd love to continue my experiences learning the craft! Alas, I must graduate at the end of Spring Quarter but I hope to use the tools in my expanded toolkit soon,
