For my last blog post, I chose a picture of light that is quite simple but I think says a lot. The origin of the light starts in the top right corner where the intensity is the strongest. As the light continues across the image down to the bottom left, the intensity fades and becomes less bright. I think what stood out to me most from this photo is that the light can provoke so many different moods and concepts. When I first looked at this I felt the words isolation and cold come to me. I think the coldness comes from the white light. If it was warmer and a more yellow-orange color than I think it would completely shift the mood. Because it is a very white light, it seems cold and dark. The black surrounding the light also sets a tone for an unwelcoming environment. Another potential interpretation is that the origin of the light in the top right corner is an escape from this darkness. And the light that radiates from that origin is a pathway for whoever is in the isolated space. This could symbolize hope rather than sadness. I think if the light were a warmer color, though, this concept/idea would be even better suited.
